CENTRAL ASIA

The Challenge: Central Asia is a critical, largely unreached frontier. Steeped in Islamic traditions with diverse cultures, the region presents unique challenges for gospel access, discipleship, and church development. Millions lack access to the Gospel, face spiritual poverty, and live without the visible demonstration of Christ's compassion.

Our Collective Approach: We are a collaborative campaign uniting diverse organizations with a shared vision for Central Asia. Grounded in the Great Commission, we strategically work across five interconnected areas to accelerate gospel movements and bring lasting transformation:

[ HIGHLIGHTS ]

Our Goals

Bible Engagement & Distribution

Focus: Many Central Asian languages and dialects still lack accessible Scripture. We champion Bible translation, distribution, and engagement initiatives, ensuring that every person can read and understand God's Word in their heart language. This is vital for Teaching and Obedience (Matt 28:20), empowering true discipleship and mature faith.

Call to Action: Contribute to Bible translation projects, support literacy programs, and help distribute Bibles in hard-to-reach areas

Accelerating Evangelism

Focus: Addressing the vast unreached populations, we strategically support and innovate methods for gospel proclamation among Central Asian peoples. This includes culturally relevant outreach, digital strategies, and equipping indigenous believers to share their faith within their own contexts. Our efforts are driven by the Global Scope of the Great Commission (Matt 28:19) to ensure every ethnic group hears the Good News.

Call to Action: Partner with us to fund evangelistic initiatives, develop contextualized resources, or send mission workers to strategic areas.

Establish a Growing Church

Focus: We invest in discipleship and church planting movements that lead to healthy, reproducing local churches. This involves training national leaders, fostering culturally appropriate church models, and ensuring new believers are integrated into supportive communities for ongoing growth. This directly fulfills the core command to Make Disciples and provide for their Baptism and Incorporation (Matt 28:19).

Call to Action: Support leader training, church planter residencies, and resource development for new congregations across the region.

Compassion Efforts

Focus: We express Christ's love tangibly by engaging in humanitarian aid, community development, and justice initiatives. Addressing practical needs like poverty, education, and healthcare opens doors, builds trust, and provides a powerful Witness (Acts 1:8) to the transformational power of the Gospel. This embodies Teaching and Obeying Christ's commands to love our neighbor (Matt 28:20).

Call to Action: Fund development projects, support local compassionate ministries, and help us respond to urgent needs in vulnerable communities

Nations

KAZAKHSTAN

Today, less than 1% of the Kazakhstan population identifies as Protestant. With a history of the first missionaries arriving in the 4th century, to the rise of Islam, and state-sponsored atheism under Soviet rule, the church of Kazakhstan faces restrictions and pressure from the majority Muslim population.

  • For the gospel to be known.

With a history of Christianity being suppressed under Soviet rule and about a 70% Muslim population, many Kazakhs have never heard the truth of the gospel. Pray for the gospel to be shared and heard.

For new believers from a Muslim background.

Leaving Islam often comes with social pressure, family rejection, and government scrutiny. Pray for new believers to be strengthened and encouraged in their faith.

    For unity and growth.

While Christianity accounts for a small part of the population, there are various denominations present in Kazakhstan. Pray for unity among believers and for the gospel to be at the center of all teaching.

  • COMMUNITY PROGRAMS

To help believers reach their neighbors with the gospel, we are engaging in various outreach programs and gatherings designed to share the good news with community members.

    COVERT EVENT FUNNELS

We are working on providing an array of live events that engage people with felt needs, that inspire them to engage with the gospel.

    EVANGELISTIC FOLLOW-UP

To initiate gospel conversations, we are presenting the gospel on various media platforms. When seekers reach out to learn more, these projects follow up with a gospel conversation and connect them with local churches and believers.

    MEDIA PRODUCTION & DISTRIBUTION

In many least reached areas, it can be dangerous for believers and seekers to talk about the gospel in public. Also, they often do not have access to biblical resources. We are distributing Bibles and sharing the gospel and theological resources online and on social media.

    PERSONAL OUTREACH

We are joining alongside projects initiating gospel conversations with the least reached and unengaged—from street evangelism to one-on-one evangelistic opportunities to business ventures.

  • LARGE GATHERINGS

To connect and strengthen disciples, we are engaging in various efforts that bring together large groups of believers for discipleship opportunities.

UZBEKISTAN

IWith a history of Christianity arriving in the 4th century, to the spread of Islam, and Soviet atheism, less than 1% of Uzbekistan's population today identifies as Christian amidst a Muslim majority. Today, the church in Uzbekistan faces restrictions to gather and share the gospel.

  • FOR NEW CHURCHES TO BE PLANTED.

With limited freedom to gather as the church, pray that current and new applications to register churches would be approved and that believers can safely gather together.

FOR THE GOSPEL TO BE SHARED.

With 94% of the population identifying as Muslim, pray that Uzbek Christians would be bold in sharing the gospel and that churches would focus on reaching unreached areas of the country, particularly rural areas.

    FOR BELIEVERS TO BE DISCIPLED.

Pray that local believers in Uzbekistan would have access to good theological resources to grow in holiness and knowledge of the Lord.

  • COMMUNITY PROGRAMS

KYRGYZSTAN

IWith a history of Christianity arriving in the 4th century, to the spread of Islam, and Soviet atheism, less than 1% of Kyrgyzstan's population today identifies as evangelical Christian amidst a Muslim majority. Today, the church in Kyrgyzstan faces restrictions to gather and share the gospel.

  • The government needs courage, resources, and even miracles to make right the economy and society. The regimes that followed Communism have so far only brought more corruption, crime, and poverty. Many people migrate from rural to urban areas, which results in large slum populations in Bishkek. Others leave the country to find work. Pray for Christians to find good, legal jobs. High rates of alcoholism, drug trafficking, gambling, and prostitution create huge challenges. The poor, elderly, and disabled suffer the most. Pray that believers can address these challenges, and positively affect their society and economy.

FOR NEW CHURCHES TO BE PLANTED.

With limited freedom to gather as the church, pray that current and new applications to register churches would be approved and that believers can safely gather together.

    FOR BELIEVERS TO BE DISCIPLED.

Pray that local believers in Kyrgyzstan would have access to good theological resources to grow in holiness and knowledge of the Lord.

TAJIKISTAN

Less than 1% of Tajikistan's population today identifies as evangelical Christian amidst a Muslim majority. Today, the church in Tajikistan faces restrictions to gather and share the gospel.

  • The civil war of the 1990s left an unforgettable mark on the nation. 83% of the population still live below the poverty line. Prisoners, the elderly, widows, and orphans face the greatest risks. The country needs relief-and-development work, as well as education and business training. Pray for sensitive Christian ministry that can address the great social and spiritual needs. Ask God to call more long-term personnel, especially from among Iranian believers who have an ethnic relationship with the Tajiks.

The Christian population has been massively reduced by emigration. It was and remains largely Russian Orthodox. The civil war and its aftermath drove out the majority; most of the remainder are cultural/nominal Christians with little desire to share the gospel with indigenous peoples. Pray that such a vision might be awakened. While multi-ethnic congregations exist in a few cities, the bulk of the rural majority remains unreached. Pray also for contextually sensitive outreach efforts and for church structures that will reproduce in rural areas.

Freedom of religion exists, but barely. The government, to prevent the growth of extremism in Islam, introduced many restrictions that place a stranglehold on Christian ministry. Religious teaching, publishing and proselytism is made very difficult if not illegal. Registering churches is also very difficult. Pray for the gospel to spread and Christians to find ways to teach and minister despite these harsh restrictions.

Expatriate involvement. Tajikistan, with its great social and spiritual needs, is ripe for Christian ministry done sensitively and appropriately. Relief and development are much-needed and fruitful ministries, as are education and business training. Young people, prisoners, drug addicts and women in difficult situations are particularly responsive. Pray for the calling and entry of more long-term personnel. Pray for ethnically related Iranian Christians to become witnesses; they could play a unique role in winning Tajiks to Jesus.

    5

Tajiks number 13 million in Central Asia. For nearly a thousand years, there was no significant outreach to Tajiks. Now, in addition to more than 1,000 believers in Tajikistan, there are a greater number of Tajik believers in Afghanistan as well as some in Pakistan and Uzbekistan. Pray for further growth, and pray for the establishment of a truly indigenous Tajik Church - this is beginning to happen as Tajik church leaders emerge. Pray especially for unity in this young expression of Christ's body.

TURKMENISTAN

Less than .01% of Tukmenistan’s population today identifies as evangelical Christian amidst a Muslim majority. Today, the church in Turkmenistan faces extreme restrictions to gather and share the gospel.

    • Accelerating Evangelism: The severe government control and social pressure make open evangelism virtually impossible. Creative, discreet, and supernatural means are essential to reach people.

    • Eradicate Bible Poverty: Access to the Bible in the Turkmen language, in any form, is incredibly limited and dangerous to possess or distribute. There's a profound need for more Scripture access.

    • Mobilize Prayer: Due to the extreme restrictions and spiritual darkness, fervent, sustained, and strategic prayer is paramount for any spiritual breakthrough.

    • Establish a Growing Church: Believers need immense courage, wisdom, and deep discipleship to survive and grow in this hostile environment. Establishing a visible, growing church is extraordinarily challenging, making discreet house churches and robust spiritual formation vital.

    • Demonstrate Powerful Compassion: While direct aid is difficult, opportunities to demonstrate kindness and compassion (even in simple, personal ways) can be powerful witnesses in a society where trust is often scarce.

  • EVANGELISTIC FOLLOW-UP
